MAGICIAN provides funding for projects aimed at enhancing robotic defect detection and repair in manufacturing through AI-driven and human-centered automation. The first open call, MAGICIAN Open Call 1, aims to support projects that will further strengthen MAGICIAN’s robotic defect detection and repair system by integrating innovative functionalities.
MAGICIAN supports projects focused on the following two main areas:
- F1: Perception Technologies
- AI-driven defect detection
- Advanced sensors and data processing
- F2: Human-Robot Collaboration
- Intuitive user interfaces
- Mobile robotic platforms
Applicants’ solutions must be fully integrated with MAGICIAN’s robotic systems, software infrastructure, and operational setup to enhance defect detection and repair processes.
Application Types and Eligibility
Applications can be submitted as either Single AS or Twin AS:
- Single AS: Suitable for SMEs or startups capable of independently integrating their solution into MAGICIAN.
- Twin AS: Recommended for projects requiring collaboration between two companies with complementary expertise to develop a solution.
- Applicants must be SMEs or startups based in EU or Horizon Europe Associated Countries.
- Large companies and non-European entities are not eligible for funding.
Project Duration and Budget Details
- Project Duration: 12 months
- Budget and Funding Rates:
- Startups: 100% of eligible costs
- SMEs: 70% of eligible costs
- Maximum Funding:€200,000 per project (Up to 5 projects will be funded)
- Payment Plan:
- 50% pre-financing upon contract signature
- 35% upon mid-term report approval
- 15% final payment upon project completion
